This is a common misunderstanding. Changing your password in the Alovhost client area only updates your login credentials for the customer portalnot your actual Windows VPS (RDP) password.

If you're unable to log in to your VPS via Remote Desktop after changing your Alovhost password, here's what you need to know:

How to Properly Change Your VPS Password

To change your Windows VPS login password (RDP password), follow these steps from the Alovhost Customer Panel:

  1. Log in to your Alovhost account at https://alovhost.com

  2. Go to Services > Select your VPS

  3. Click the Settings tab at the top

  4. Under "Change Password", enter your new desired VPS password

  5. Click Change Password

This will update the password for your Windows VPS Administrator account, which is the password used for Remote Desktop (RDP) access.

Reminder: Your VPS password and your Alovhost client area login password are completely separate.

Still Locked Out?

If you're unable to access the VPS at all or forgot the Administrator password, please open a support ticket. Our team will reset the password for you and email it securely.
